COLUMBUS - The No. 3 Columbus State University women's soccer team is set to host No. 10 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Walden Soccer Complex. The top-10 showdown will kick off at 11 a.m. in Columbus.
ABOUT EMBRY-RIDDLE
- Embry-Riddle played it's season opener on Thursday, Aug. 31 against the University of West Georgia, beating the Wolves 1-0
- Junior Grace Foyer scored the lone goal in the match in the 59th minute
- The Eagles out-shot UWG 13-2 (3-1 SOG), holding the Wolves to zero shots in the second half
- ERAU returns seniors Isabelle Navren, Marie Myhrvold Seim and Savannah Shehan
- The Eagles posted a 14-1-5 record in 2022, defeating Columbus State 1-0 on Sept. 2 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
ABOUT COLUMBUS STATE
- CSU returns a stacked roster, including key seniors Carley Canzoneri, Lizzie Hedrick, Anna Grady, Faith Knoedler and Brooke Ouimette, juniors Lauren Barnes and Emma Beddow, and sophomore Sarah Hungerford
- Columbus State was ranked first in the PBC preseason poll on Aug. 23 and Barnes, Beddow, Canzoneri, Hedrick, Hungerford and Knoedler were all named to the Peach Belt Conference Preseason All-Conference team
- The Cougars had a historical season in 2022, posting a 19-3-2 record and reaching the NCAA Final Four for the third time in program history
- CSU won the PBC Regular-Season Championship for the 14th time and the Southeast Regional Championship for the seventh time
- The Cougars beat UWG 1-0 in a scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 20
