COLUMBUS - The NCAA Men's Golf rankings by Scoreboard were released Wednesday and Columbus State is No. 17 in Division II.
After the fall season in 2023, the Cougars post a scoring average of 289.1 with two top-3 finishes. CSU finished second out of 19 teams at the Bearcat Fall Invitational hosted by Lander University Sept. 11-12. The Cougars also placed third out of 18 teams at the University of North Georgia's Mizuno Intercollegiate from Sept. 18-19.
Martin Gruendemann led Columbus State in the fall with three top-10 finishes, including a first-place finish at the Mizuno Intercollegiate, scoring a 9-under 207. Him and teammate
Bernard Meyer were named to the all-tournament team. Gruendemann also finished tied for seventh at the Curahee Invitational hosted by Anderson University on Oct. 24, and sixth at the Bearcat Fall Invitational.
The Cougars will begin the spring season on Monday, Feb. 12 at the Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate hosted by Lincoln Memorial University in St. Augustine, Fla.
