ROME, Ga. – Columbus State Men's Tennis will be represented by two doubles teams at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup in Rome, Ga. which takes place from Thursday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 13.
The ITA Cup is held at the Rome Tennis Center which has been the host venue for the event since 2017.
Elias Peter and
Andrea Sandrone are set to open the tournament with a 2:30 p.m. ET start in the East Round of 16, facing West Florida's Diego Duran and Sebastian Rondon. The pair earned automatic entry into the ITA Cup after securing the ITA Southeast Regional Championship Doubles Title in South Carolina nine days ago.
It was an all-CSU final at the Palmetto Tennis Center as Peter and Sandrone took the championship over
Daniel Hammond and
Benedek Szombathelyi who are also competing in Rome this week. Hammond and Szombathelyi are set for an opening round against Washburn's (Kan.) Vaclav Schneider and Tommaso Cecchetti at 2:30 p.m. ET.
