AUGUSTA, Ga. – Columbus State University women's soccer student-athlete
Sarah Hungerford has been announced as the Peach Belt Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Hungerford scored five goals in wins at Lander (S.C.) and USC Beaufort (S.C.) helping lead the No. 2-ranked Lady Cougars to a perfect 9-0 PBC record.
The junior from Richmond Hill, Ga. recorded a brace at Lander, lifting CSU to a 2-1 comeback victory which included the game-winner in the 81st minute. She followed with a hat trick at USCB in just 40 minutes on the field.
Hungerford now leads the Lady Cougars with 10 goals and is ranked fourth in the PBC in scoring. She also is tied for the league lead in game-winners and is sixth in points per game.
Monday's recognition is the third-straight week that a Lady Cougar has been honored and a career-first for Hungerford. CSU has tallied four Players of the Week so far this season.
The Lady Cougars close out the regular season at Montevallo (Ala.) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET.
