MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Columbus State men's and women's tennis teams will travel to Georgia College & State University on Friday, April 12 for a Peach Belt Conference match at 2 p.m.
Men
Since the 2009 season, the No. 4 Cougars hold a 13-4 record against the Bobcats. CSU currently posts a six-match winning streak. Georgia College is 4-11 (0-3 PBC) in 2024, while Columbus State is 10-5 (2-1 PBC).Â
GCSU's Noe Villan posts a singles record of 6-9 and is on a two-match win streak. In doubles play, the pair of Gabe Cizek and Jorge Robinson hold a 3-4 record. CSU's
Daniel Hammond and
Thomas Cardona each post 10 wins in singles play and the duo is 7-3 in doubles.
Andreas Sandrone and
Felix Steen are 8-5 in doubles.
Women
The No. 15 Lady Cougars are a perfect 23-0 against Georgia College since 2009, and previously beat the Bobcats 7-0 on April 18, 2023. GCSU is currently 11-7 (3-1 PBC) and CSU holds a 10-5 (3-0 PBC) record.Â
In singles play for the Bobcats, Ashley Bentz leads the team with a 13-5 record. In doubles, Bentz and teammate Shradha Chhabra are 8-3. For Columbus State,
Nikoline Gullacksen is 13-1 in singles. Gullacksen and partner
Mariana Ramirez post a 12-3 doubles record.
