COLUMBUS – Columbus State University senior goalkeeper
Heidi Harris has been named the Athlete of the Week presented by Chick-fil-A on Macon Road and Manchester Expressway following, a stellar pair of performances that anchored the Cougars' defensive success.
Harris was outstanding between the posts, earning back-to-back shutouts in decisive wins over Montevallo (5–0) and Albany State (6–0). Across the two matches, she played 157 minutes without conceding a goal, finishing the week with a perfect 0.00 goals-against average and 1.000 save percentage. The Suwanee, Ga., native made seven total saves five against Montevallo and two versus Albany State while recording two clean sheets to cap an exceptional week in goal.
A graduate of Lambert High School, Harris is majoring in Health Science and has been a cornerstone of the Cougars' defensive unit throughout her career. Known for her composure, communication, and leadership on the back line, she continues to be one of the Peach Belt Conference's top goalkeepers.
When asked, if you had the talent to play another sport, what would it be and why? Harris responded with, "Swimming. Never have to worry about bad weather affecting your sport."
With Harris anchoring the defense, the Cougars remain one of the toughest teams to break down as they continue their postseason push.
