Cougars Tennis Takes on Auburn-Montgomery at Home on Friday

CSU looks to keep their winning streak alive

COLUMBUS – Columbus State University tennis opens the weekend at home to face Auburn-Montgomery (AL) on Friday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. ET at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.

 

#5 Men vs Auburn-Montgomery

  •  The #5-ranked Cougars (2-0) are 6-0 against the Warhawks since their first matchup in 2018.

  • Last year's meeting between the two teams, CSU won 5-2.

  • The Cougars are returning to play after a massive win of 7-0 over Converse (S.C.) on Tuesday as the Warhawks are opening up their spring season tomorrow. 

  • The Cougars look to give a young AUM team their first loss of the season in order to continue their winning streak. 

 

#9 Women vs #10 Auburn-Montgomery

  • The #9-ranked Lady Cougars (2-0) are 6-0 against the #10-ranked Warhawks.

  • Last year's meeting between the two teams, CSU won 5-2.

  • CSU is returning from a 4-3 win against Converse (S.C.) while the Warhawks are opening their spring season tomorrow due to the postponement of their original season opener against West Alabama. 

  •  AUM is led by Estefania Garcia, who was named a 2024 ITA Division II All-American and Ane Ibarra who was partnered with Garcia for Doubles last season. The Duo finished the 2024 season ranked No. 16 in the ITA Doubles Rankings.
