EATONTON, Ga. – Columbus State University men's golf traveled to Eatonton, Ga. to take on the Bobcat Invitational hosted by fellow Peach Belt Conference member Georgia College.
The Cougars finished with a three-round total of 858 (+18) to finish fifth out of 15 teams in the field at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee which played at 6,730 yards for a par 70.
Bryant Vail led the way for Columbus State with a T8th finish out of 75 individuals, carding two rounds under par for the 54-hole tournament. He opened with a two-under 68, followed with a five-over round two, and closed with another 68 to finish one-over for the event.
Martin Gruendemann and Russell Makepeace were the two other student-athletes who managed to shoot under par in a round. Gruendemann shot a three-under round of 67 in the final round while Makepeace scored a one-under 69 in round two.
Columbus State led the tournament with four eagles as a team. Vail finished with two eagles which led the tournament while also totaling a team-leading nine birdies across the 54-hole event. Will Coffman and Gruendemann followed with eight birdies apiece while also notching an eagle each.
