AUGUSTA, Ga. – Day two action at the Peach Belt Conference Championships wrapped up for No. 12-ranked Columbus State University men's golf as the Cougars finished Saturday's round with a five-over 293 to remain at sixth as a team with a 10-over score of 586.
Columbus State was led by Bernard Meyer who fired an even-par second round at the par-72, 7,086-yard Forest Hills Golf Club. Frederick Chappell carded a one-over round to land at T-12th alongside Meyer with a two-round total of 144.
Martin Gruendemann sits at T-23rd after a round of 74 on Saturday, recording a two-round score of 148. Russell Makepeace also fired off a 74 on Saturday to land at T-31st in the field for a score of 150. Pate Stansell rounded out the Cougars with a score of 77 on day two to land at T-38th and a two-day score of 155.
CSU sits ahead of Lander (S.C.) in seventh and Georgia College in eighth. North Georgia is fifth in the field behind Flagler (Fla.) in fourth. Georgia Southwestern is third with USC Aiken in second and USC Beaufort in first.
