GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Columbus State University Men's Glf team wrapped up play at the 4th Annual Mizuno Intercollegiate with a stellar final round at Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia. The Cougars carded an impressive 9-under team score on the closing day, surging up the leaderboard to secure a fourth-place finish in the competitive field.
CSU bounced back after opening at +3, showing poise and determination throughout the final 18 holes. The -9 team effort was one of the lowest rounds of the tournament and capped off a strong overall performance. The Cougars finished with an overall team score of 861 (291–291–279, E), highlighting their consistency across all three rounds and signaling growth early in the fall season.
Leading the way for the Cougars was
Russell Makepeace, who fired a tournament-best 66 (-6) in the final round to climb into a tie for 10th at 2-under (214). Right behind him was
Will Coffman, who closed with a 69 (-3) to secure a tie for 17th at 1-under (215). Both golfers provided key momentum on the final day and set the tone for CSU's surge up the leaderboard.
