AUGUSTA, GA. – Columbus State senior
Thomas Cardona has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading No. 14 Columbus State University to a 5-2 upset of No. 9 Embry-Riddle University on Sunday.
In doubles play, Cardona teamed with junior
Samer Al Tori for a 6-3 victory at No. 2.
Singles play saw the Medellin, Colombia native pull off an upset, defeating the 25th-ranked Division II singles player, Marc Mail by a 6-2, 6-0 score at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
Columbus State returns to action when the team travels to face in-state foe Young Harris College on Thursday, Feb. 26, for a 2:00 p.m. for a match in Young Harris, Ga.
