Amber Browning was one of the main contributors during the 2007 softball season at Columbus State University. In her career with the Cougars, Browning pitched 205 innings and recorded a 26-3 record inside the circle, including three no-hitters. She posted a 0.89 ERA, a 1.36 opposing batting average and struck out 285 batters.

Browning led the Cougars to win the Peach Belt Conference Championship and the Southeast Region Championship, finishing third in the College World Series. She was named the PBC Pitcher of the Year in 2007 and was tabbed to the All-Peach Belt Conference First Team. Browning was also selected to the NFCA and Daktronics All-American First Teams.

Browning is a mathematics teacher for Muscogee County School District at Northside High School in Columbus where she also coached softball. She graduated from CSU with a bachelor of arts degree in history in 2011 and received a master of education degree in 2012.
