Hall of Fame
Gene Chappell was a two time NAIA All American, earning the honors in 1974 and 1975. He was named one of the Outstanding Collegiate Athletes of America in 1974 and 1975 and was a National doubles finalist in 1973 and National singles finalist in 1974. In each of his four years, Chappell ranked in the top 10 in the state of Georgia. He then went on to play satellite tournaments in 1975 and 1976. Chappell has taught tennis now for 40 years in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
