A three-time All-American and a four-time All-Peach Belt Conference golfer, Ries led Columbus State to the 2007 PBC Championship, the Cougars fourth conference crown since 1992 and first since 1998, and to a second place finish at the 2006 NCAA Championship. In total, Columbus State reached the NCAA Championship in all four season with Ries on the squad and finished inside the top-five in three of them. Ries’ finest moment came in his last tournament as a Cougar as he became the fifth player in CSU history to win an individual national championship winning the tournament by four strokes over the second place finisher. Ries always found great success in the national tournament as he also collected a sixth place finish in 2004 and a fifth place finish in 2006.
