Marty Richburg played shortstop for the CSU baseball team in 1996 and 1997. He was a 1st team All-American, 1st team All-Region and the Peach Belt Conference Player of the year in 1997 after hitting .406 with 10 home runs, 18 doubles, and 44 RBIs. During the 1996 season he was 1st team All-Region, 1st team All-Peach Belt Conference and the Most Valuable Player of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Richburg started every game he played in and batted .371 with 21 home runs, 31 doubles, 7 triples, and 92 RBIs in his two seasons at CSU. He also holds the distinction of being the last CSU player to hit .400 in a single season.
