LaShawn Mincey was a starting point guard for four years leading the Lady Cougars to a record of 109-22. In her career at CSU, she helped lead her teams to two Final Four appearances, two South Atlantic Regional Championships, one undefeated regular season (31 straight wins), and a ranking of #1 in the country for 11 straight weeks. While playing at CSU, LaShawn and her teammates won two Peach Belt Conference Tournament championships and one regular season championship. She was named the MVP of the 2001 PBC Tournament.  She set CSU records for most games played in a career, 130; most games started in a career, 128; career assists, 698; career steals, 407; season steals, 120; and steals in a game, 10. Mincey claimed PBC records for steals in a season/career, and assists in a career.
