In 1977, he had been named Co-Captain of the CSU Tennis Team and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. In addition, he claimed SAC championships at no. 2 singles and no. 1 doubles.

After CSU, David furthered his education at the University of Georgia’s School of Law. He became CEO and Chairman at Mountville Mills, Inc. in LaGrange, Ga. but has since retired. In recognition of his achievements, David was awarded the Thomas Y. Whitley Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2022.
