Jason Burdette was a starting pitcher for the CSU Cougars under the direction of head coach Greg Appleton. He ranks first in CSU history with 360.2 innings pitched and 52 starts. His 307 strikeouts are second all-time and he is fourth in wins with 28. His 14 complete games rank sixth. Jason was twice named to the All-Peach Belt Conference team. His strikeout total is sixth best in PBC history. He is also third in innings pitched and fifth in starts in the PBC. Jason recorded two wins in the 2002 College World Series including a complete game performance to beat Chico State in the national championship game. In that game, he allowed only two earned runs, struck out three and did not walk a batter. His World Series totals of two wins, four earned runs, eight strikeouts and no walks landed him on the All-World Series team. He signed a professional contract with the Oakland Athletics organization in 2002.
